Death Comes on Eve
of 40th Wedding Anniversary

Death overtook Herbert (Hubert) Schroeder aged 60, of 59 Division street, late last evening, almost on the eve of his fortieth wedding anniversary. Mr. Schroeder had been a resident of Muskegon for the past 44 years and was married to Miss Christina Hoos just 40 years ago tomorrow in this city.

Mr. Schroeder was born in Germany and came to the United States, locating in Milwaukee, Wis., when 12 years of age. He moved to Muskegon with his parents when but 16 years old and has since made his home here.

He leaves besides his wife, five sons, Edward, Huggert (Hubert), Walter, George, and Karl (Carl), all of this city., and six daughters, Mrs. C.E. Bodenberg of Chicago; Mrs. A.J. Griffin, of Norton township; Mrs. F.H. Graham, of Fort Clinton, Ohio; Mrs. C.E. Atwood (Attwood), of Grand Rapids; Mrs. C.A. Spencer of Muskegon, and Miss Edith Schroeder, at home. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Fredidnand Rodical of Milwaukee and 23 grandchildren. He was a member of Lovell Moore Lodge, No. 182, F. and A.M. The funeral will be held at the residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. August Schultz pastor of the St. John's German Evangelical church, will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
