Here 64 Years, Dies

Mrs. Christina E. Schroeder, 80 years old, a Muskegon resident for 64 years, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.H. Graham, 1481 Division street, after a lingering illness.

She was the widow of Hubert Schroeder, who died 21 years ago. She was born Christina E. Hoos, in Berlin, Germany, July 20, 1857, and came to the United States 69 years ago, locating at Menominee Falls, Wis. Five years later, she came to Muskegon from Menominee, since residing here.

Mrs. Schroeder is survived by five sons, Edward J. Schroeder, of Muskegon Heights, Walter Schroeder, of Fremont, George, Hubert and Carl Schroeder, of Muskegon; six daughters, Mrs. E.C. Bodenberg, and Mrs. C.A. Spencer, of Chicago, Mrs. Charles Atwood, of Grand Rapids, Mrs. John Griffin, of Muskegon, Mrs. F.H. Graham, of Muskegon, Mrs. M.E. Burdick, of Muskegon Heights; 31 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Woodrow, of Muskegon; one brother John Hoos, of Muskegon.
