Edward A. Patridge and Samuel Garland. I am trying to trace roots for these families. From what I can determine the Edward A. Patridge family was living in the Village of Muskegon in l860. He should have been approximately 45 or 46 years old. Samuel Garland was living in the Township of White River and should have been about 40. I would love to have any information that anyone could provide on these two families or where I might find other information and if there is any cost involved please e-mail me and I will be glad to make arrangements for payment. THANK YOU

The problem is that I can't figure out who Willard's parents were (father b. NY, mother b. MI). I have tried the census index published by the State Library of Michigan but am having trouble locating Willard in the 1870 census. In about 1893, Willard married Ida May BELL, b. May 1877 in Michigan. They lived in Bridgeton in Newaygo County, but some of the family moved into Muskegon later. Their five children were Ethel, Lila, Beatrice, Reva, and Willard Jr. I'm also stuck on Ida's parents' names. Her father's brother may have been Alex BELL, born about 1834.

I have recently started researching my family history and have come to an impass at my great-great-grandfathers name. Louis C. Ringuette b July, 04,1847 d. June 30,1938 (I believe he is the person who changed the spelling of our last name to RINGATE) wife Alice Vassar b March 06, 1853 d April 26,1912. They had several children, Jennie Mary b February 08,1877; Albert Joseph b March 06, 1874 (my grandfather); Gilbert P b February 25, 1877; Josie b February 25, 1882; Come L. b May 05,1882; Harry C. b September 01,1888. The information I have shows that Jennie and Albert were most likely born while the family was living in Muskegon. What I am looking for is anything that would give me the names of the parents of Louis and/or Alice. I believe they both were my immigrant grand parents, and it is believed they immigrated from France. This is mostly hear say information I have been able to find. I was hoping that some data bases would be on-line that could give me some information on who their parents were, or at least where in France they came from if in fact that is where they came from. Any information at all that can be found on this family while they were living in the Muskegon area would be very helpful.
