Registered Log Mark Holders

Of Muskegon County

Taken from the Book, "Michigan Log Marks", The book is "compiled by Workers of the Writers' Program of the Work Projects Administration in the State of Michigan" Edited by Clifford Allen Harold Titus, State Supervisor. It's put out by Michigan State College, Agricultural Experiment Station, East Lansing. Issued November 1941; First Reprinting, January 1942. Log marks were to Michigan what cattle brands are to the grazing states. A means of identifying ones logs. In 1842, Michigan Legislature enacted a law requiring log marks to be registered in the county where the logs were to be manufactured into lumber.

The following is a list of registered log marks for Muskegon County. A number after the name indicates the number of log marks registered. Actual drawings of the log marks are in the book.
